NEXUS SWOOP FOR HANNAH LAU-WALKER.

Nexus Studios say Hannah Lau-Walker is "the kind of exceptional talent that we are proud to champion". The animation director has worked on a string of projects for the company already, but co-founder and chief creative officer Chris O'Reilly wanted to make it official.

"It's been an absolute pleasure working with Hannah over the past few years, and we're beyond excited to officially welcome her to the Nexus Studios roster of directing talent. She's a true creative force—an imaginative storyteller and a natural leader in collaborative projects, shaping the animation industry on and off the screen."


O'Reilly is referring to She Drew That, a monthly animation workshop founded by Lau-Walker in 2019. She leads efforts to mentor, support, and empower women in animation through workshops, residencies, and community-driven projects, but not before she delivers commercials like this one for Serious Tissue.

A tree voiced by Kiell Smith-Bynoe is shocked to learn that "up to fifteen-percent of deforestation is for toilet paper", which also explains why a naked protestor is so het up. If only there was a tissue brand that planted trees instead.

Cue a lovely cameo from Big Al, a horse-chestnut tree and Serious success story who's always generous with his conkers. This and the nude protestor's tribute to his new favourite brand complete a witty ode to sustainability.
