1. Toby Auberg
Toby Auberg can be found either in Hamburg or London hard at work on films like 'Pile', which charts mankind's journey from "bare survival to the unhinged dystopia of late capitalism". What a time to be alive, eh?
At least Auberg is optimistic about life at Presence: "I'm super excited and grateful to be joining! I can't wait to begin this next stage of my directing career, exploring new contexts for fringe 3D/CGI together with the Presence team".
2. Paulina Ziółkowska
Born in Wrocław, Poland, director Paulina Ziółkowska flits between Berlin, Toronto, and London as she produces thought-provoking and—in the case of 2019 sneeze-a-thon 'Bless You'—prophetic 2D animation.
According to executive producer Danny Fleet, the Pole's "drawings are exquisite and the stories brilliant and irreverent." Let's wait and see how Ziółkowska's considered style translates to the UK commercial market.
3. Dimitris Armenakis
Auberg and Ziółkowska are joined by Dimitris Armenakis, a Greek filmmaker who blends cultural commentary with Technicolor visuals. His Royal College of Art graduation film 'All You Can Eat' is a prime example of this approach.
"As an animation director," Armenakis says, "I'm really excited to be part of this brilliant team, consisting of some fantastic directors. Looking forward to working with Presence on great projects for the world to see!"
