BIG BUOY INTRODUCE BIG KAHUNA.
2 August 2019

Post-production house Big Buoy have unveiled their new spin-off studio, Big Kahuna.

Led by head of audio Scott Little, producer Jenny Standish, and Big Buoy's managing director Colin Sumsion, Big Kahuna specialise in all things audio, from sound design and music composition to dubbing and voice-over sessions.

Bar service at Big Kahuna.

Such work was previously completed under the Big Buoy name. Keen to put the company's audio buffs in the spotlight, however, Sumsion gave Big Kahuna the green light: "Scott and his fantastic team have been overlooked for far too long. It's time to release them into the world!"

It's an opportunity that Little is grabbing with both hands (and feet), pointing to his team's collaborative nature as one of Big Kahuna's main selling points: "We're engaged as early as the pitch and storyboard stage, [then working] with our editors and VFX artists.

"It's allowed us audio geeks to gain a great insight into and respect for the process, from start to finish."

Sit down with the King.

Keeping Little and his team on mission is seasoned producer Jenny Standish, who says joining Big Kahuna is "the best decision of my career so far", adding: "To work with the audio department and the rest of the team here at Big Buoy has allowed me to explore new ideas and ways of working."

Now that the launch party's out of the way, Standish, Little, and Sumsion are determined to make Big Kahuna a worthy addition to the Big Buoy stable. Keep your ears peeled for their first work.
