Intrepid filmmaker Luo Jian has joined CANADA for global representation. Born in the Uyghur Autonomous Region of China in the Gobi Desert, Jian has travelled far and wide in her career from day one. She now finds herself in London, drawn to CANADA's open-minded attitude.
"It's always inspiring to surround myself with people who are not only interested in producing good work, but also interested in building a community," Jian says. "CANADA feels like such a crowd. Their ideas are without boundaries, and they are curious about what a different voice may say."
In return, CANADA were struck by Jian's passion for her craft. When she lived in New York, Jian would teach filmmaking to elderly immigrants in local community centres. Once Marta Bobic consumed Jian's reel, the company's UK managing director leapt into action.
"We are delighted to welcome Jian to CANADA's global roster," Bobic says. "Her skill for getting to the heart of a story and breathing life into her characters through even the smallest details caught our eye and we couldn't be more excited to collaborate with her. We are looking forward to bringing her touch to commercials, music videos, and more."
