Kellogg's Crunchy Nut
"Revolutionary Chocolatier"
40s
19 Aug 2013
Another scenario in which absolute silence is required... and another inappropriate bowl of the advertised cereal. This time they're even more irresistible because of added chocolate but that's little comfort to the aristocrat alongside the fellow who yields to temptation as they hide in a cellar from the Old Bill in revolutionary France.

Valmano
"Dentist"
60s
19 Aug 2013
This wonderfully daft German ad has a similar vibe to the Southern Comfort film that should have won the Grand Prix at Cannes this year. A man undergoing dental treatment has his discomfort relieved by the luxury goods available from the advertised web site - represented by a suave man with some sharp moves.

Shelter
"Bank of Mum & Dad"
2 mins
19 Aug 2013
This ad for the homeless charity uses a light-hearted approach to address a serious issue. As times get tougher, it's going to become harder and harder for parents to finance their children's launch into the adult world. There are some great set pieces - none better than the little girl who offers impressive expertise to a nodding interviewer.

Kids Company
"See The Child"
75s
19 Aug 2014
This spot for charity Kids Company is stark, grim and relentless... yet compels you to watch despite yourself. A small girl - unseen - tells us to witness the existence she led, and how its direction was shaped. The repetition of language used and the monotony of the girl's intonation convey the numbness that such a life would produce.

Lynx
"Monday"
50s
19 Aug 2014
You'd expect any ad that opened with "You have over 4,000 Mondays in your life" would put an instant dampener on your mood, but far from it with this powerhouse of a commercial from Lynx. Wanna be the man? No - make him want to be you. With a range of fine fragrances at your disposal, you can be a winner every day of the week; a playa tough enough to eat tofu and not gag.

Lenor
"Lovely Skirt"
90s
19 Aug 2015
Lenor's interest may lie in the washing of clothes, but they gracefully step aside in this well-crafted commercial to pay tribute to the clothes themselves. Taking centre stage is the skirt - and it receives a fitting ode. Through an entertaining montage that manages to keep us our toes, skirts are drawn from all ages, time periods, and mediums.

Wolf Blass
"Here's To The Chase"
60s
19 Aug 2015
This spot for Wolf Blass is in a similar vein to Land Rover's 'Can and Will' campaign last year which saw people overcoming tremendous odds and scaling all kinds of heights to reach their goals, all through self-belief and sheer bloody-minded determination. What's so unexpected about this, though, is that it's for a mid-range wine. Normally the message in this market is pitched somewhere on the spectrum between lofty self-absorption and languid self-indulgence... it's certainly not about any level of self-discipline.

Bonds
"Think of Fathers"
85s
19 Aug 2016
It's healthy for blokes to lay bare their thoughts on occasion, and, with Australia's Father's Day on the horizon, underwear brand Bonds give this group of dads an opportunity to get their talk on while stripped down to their briefs. With tongue-in-cheek candour, this circle of trust discusses the effects of childbirth on the body - namely, the male body.

Virgin Mobile
"V Festival 3"
90s
19 Aug 2005
One of several ads broadcast live on Channel 4 on the eve of the V Festival enabling competition winners to get tickets. Here, viewers must decide what to flash at the kebab stand to get some fre food: bum, boobs or Virgin Mobile.

Virgin Mobile
"V Festival 4"
70s
19 Aug 2005
One of several ads broadcast live on Channel 4 on the eve of the V Festival enabling competition winners to get tickets. Here, the final winners are announced.

Virgin Mobile
"V Festival 1"
90s
19 Aug 2005
One of several ads broadcast live on Channel 4 on the eve of the V Festival enabling competition winners to get tickets. Here, viewers must decide which of three people is a man in drag and text in the result.

Virgin Mobile
"V Festival 2"
90s
19 Aug 2005
One of several ads broadcast live on Channel 4 on the eve of the V Festival enabling competition winners to get tickets. Here, viewers must decide how many Virgin Mobile "angels" are in a small tent and text in their guesses.

Waitrose
"Love Me Tender"
30s
19 Aug 2007
A timely message of support for beleaguered farmers as they struggle once again to cope with the menace of Foot And Mouth disease. Waitrose makes its connection with British food suppliers sound so much more convincing than any other supermarket. Elvis singing Love Me Tender must have cost a bit.

Nike
"Put It Where You Want It"
60s
19 Aug 2007
After we see some well-known footballers (including Wayne Rooney) showing us what we can do, we are introduced to some lunatics who want to challenge the players to use a well-struck ball to tip them into swimming pools and so on. It's Jackass for the Nike generation.

National Year Of Reading
"Story"
90s
19 Aug 2008
A bunch of comedians (plus Geri Halliwell and Lenny Henry) read excerpts from various books and other publications to create a surreal compilation. This is part of campaign to promote 2008 as the National Year Of Reading and remind us of the importance of the written word.

Fire Safety
"Reversal"
30s
19 Aug 2008
A poignant film reminding us of the importance of turning off major electrical appliances. The action is played out backwards so that we can see that parents have been unable to rescue their sleeping child and that the fire originated through a failure to turn off a washing machine.

Sainsbury's
"Strawberry"
20s
19 Aug 2009
Judging from the still image we've selected Jamie Oliver is making a late bid to be considered for the role of Tintin in Steven Spielberg's film version of the famous Belgian comic strip. Here, the fat tongued chef babbles about strawberries.

Go Compare
"Tenor"
40s
19 Aug 2009
Two men in a coffee shop speak about car insurance with an air of resignation prompting the arrival of a man dressed as an opera singer who urges them to "go compare". The other punters in the café join in as the duo look a bit baffled by it all.

Derren Brown: The Events
"Backwards"
40s
19 Aug 2009
This intriguing trail for a new series featuring Derren Brown has the Croydon-born entertainer walking forwards but speaking backwards as everyone else moves backwards but talks forwards. Who needs drugs? just watch this a few times instead.

U.S Cellular
"Shadow Puppets"
30s
19 Aug 2009
This charming ad uses a giant shadow puppet show to illustrate its point that there are lots of things in life we might like to share. Onlookers look on with delight as a pair of shadow rabbits make their way towards each other and nuzzle. Wonder if there's an X-rated edit.

Scottish Government
"Paramedic"
60s
19 Aug 2009
This documentary-style film offers a blunt analysis of your prospects if you're wounded by a knife. A paramedic explains that lads who have been slashed in the face think they've been unlucky but if it means they haven't got a severed artery, the reverse is true.

Scottish Government
"Embalmer"
60s
19 Aug 2009
An embalmer talks about the difficulties of making the bodies of knife crime victims look presentable for their families. His hard-hitting description is designed to persuade young men that they shouldn't carry knives so they can avoid this fate.

Channel 4
"Stephen Fry's 100 Greatest Gadgets"
50s
19 Aug 2011
This cleverly compiled trail for a new C4 100 Greatest programme has Stephen Fry enthusing about all manner of gadgets. As many as possible have been included with fries image added where appropriate (strange though that he should look so much like Alan Partridge on the handheld games console).

Crown Paint
"It's You"
30s
19 Aug 2011
Animation is used to good effect in this commercial claiming that the advertised paint is more than just paint, it's personal. This does make it sound as though it's seeking vengeance but setting aside this small reservation, this is an excellent piece of advertising.

Channel 4
"Ident Spoof"
20s
19 Aug 2012
This Channel 4 ident appears to have been created for their Funny Fortnight series of comedy programmes. It features four chaps with wheelbarrows coming together in perfect harmony to create the iconic logo. It's a beautifully measured piece of understated parody.
